Golden Globes Fashion Report: Green with Envy

Green with Envy

The stars came out in force last night to see Natalie Portman, Colin Firth and co. win some of the 2011 Golden Globes awards.
Colour 'du jour' was certainly green with Catherine Zeta Jones, Elizabeth Moss, Mila Kunis and Angelina Jolie all wearing variations of the same beautiful emerald green colour.
Don't get me wrong, Angelina Jolie always gets it right when it comes to the awards season - so much so we'd like to steal her stylist - but making a change from neutral greys and blacks to green was a daring move. One that well and truly paid off. The Atelier Versace gown made her look simply radiant against the back drop of the red carpet and some of the less-well dressed stars such as Megan Fox or January Jones.
Looking equally radiant was best supporting actress nominee Mila Kunis, single life must be treating her well as she smoldered in her A-Symmetric chiffon Vera Wang gown.
So, are we green with envy ladies? I for one, sure am...

Awards Season Fashion Predictions

It's that time of year again. Awards Season. Pretty soon all we will be bothered about is who wore what, and where. So here are my 2 hot picks for fashion this awards season...
Colour
Colours are a massive fashion trend this season and awards ceremony fashion is no exception. Celebrities such as Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Katie Holmes are famed for wearing vibrant colours on the red carpet and all getting away with it. Well, most of the time. Colour was a major theme in Gucci and Sonia Rykiel's SS11 collection, shown in Satin and Silk on a bias cut, so expect to see some celebrities going for something a little different on the red carpet at some of the more relaxed ceremonies such as; the Emmy's, Comedy Awards and the Brits.

Nude Hues
Nude Hues are a favourite for many A-List stars such as; Penelope Cruz, Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift. Marchesa and Chloe are famous for ethereal, grecian inspired dresses that show the empire line and lots of sparkle - perfect for ceremonies like the Grammys and BAFTAs.

Traditional Glamour
There will always be a place for traditional awards season gowns. Dolce and Gabbana, Versace and Oscar de la Renta are the designers that are the most successful at continuously producing exquisite gowns for Cameron Diaz and Demi Moore and are most likely to be worn at high Profile Events like the Oscars (or the 'Academy Awards' as they're known in the 'biz).
