Get into Ballet Fashion with Black Swan

I'm off to the cinema tomorrow with the other half to see Black Swan. I'm going for two reasons, one, because it looks intriguingly good and two, because the costumes look AMAZING.
I have been looking into the costume design recently as I've been teaching my Year 12 students about it, so looking further into the costume design for Black Swan was more of a joy rather than a chore.

Amy Westcott and co. certainly have done a marvelous job, however, the more I have looked into this - the more I have seen how this film has taken it's costume design influence from high street fashion. So, if you love the look, then you can get it!
Obviously, you don't want to go the whole hog, unless you are an actual ballerina. But as a quirky addition to a lack-lustre outfit the Black Swan look is the way to go.

So, here are some of my top choices for you to emulate the Black Swan look:

Golden Globes Fashion Predictions - Marchesa

The Golden Globes are upon us, which are by far the most relaxed of all the American Awards ceremonies. The red carpet is ready, the statuettes are being polishes and the bubbly is about to be corked, the Golden Globes are Americas answer to the Baftas - only with a little less of the stiff upper lip we Brits are famous for.

With this in mind, the A-Listers will have a tough choice when it comes to who to wear. The big names like Doir, Chanel, and Valentino will almost certainly be saved for the big one, the Oscars. So they will be allowed a little more freedom - step up, Oscar de la Renta, Marchesa and Galliano - it is your time to shine.

Marchesas S/S2011 collection is nothing short of breathtaking. The nude hues are perfectly on trend for the awards season, along with certain pieces having that extra bit of sparkle. There is a wide variety of dresses and separates to suit every A-Listers taste. Best Actress nominees Michelle Williams, Natalie Portman and Jennifer Love-Hewitt would all suit the ethereal style of Marchesa.

Marchesa is famous for using the cut of their gowns to show of the wearers figure - and make the more petit women look that little bit taller through use of block colours and textiles.
